Creating a Doll Hospital

To create our doll hospital, we simply took an empty doll box, draped a white sheet that had light blue edging over the box, covering a pillow and added a second white sheet for a blanket.  We placed a plain white foam core board behind the bed to create a sterile hospital room feel, added a few pieces we had in other doll spaces, and have a great little doll room.  Lily thought it would be a great idea to use our doll chair that clips to a table as a place for the doll to sit and eat at, and I used the tray from a second chair to make one of those tables with a tray you use in bed.  If you wanted to get creative, you could add some printed images of hospital equipment to the wall. But the white was enough for a brief play scene!

Alice's Bad Injury, by Gracie, Age 8

"Riding a bike sure is fun," said Alice to herself.

"WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

"Awe, a bunny!"

Alice wasn't paying attention!  And then.....

"Watch out sis!"

"Owwwwwwww!"

"My leg hurts, waaaayaaah!"

LATER AT THE DOLL HOSPITAL....

I am afraid you broke your leg, said Dr. Caroline!

Oh no, really!  Said Alice

I'll be right back, I have to go get your cast.

Hi sis, I made you a card and brought you a bear!

Bye!

Here is lunch.

Could I please have more water?

Here you go!

Time to go, bye!

The end!
